Sage is a funny herb. It's often burned to ward off evil spirits, and is said to cure various ailments - however, I love to eat it's fuzzy little leaves :)

the tastiest thing I've made using sage is a parsnip, Parmesan and Sage bread recommended by Delia again :) It's good also because it doesn't need yeast so you don't need to worry about it rising. It's like a hard dough bread. See recipe here

I'm not sure how many of its apparent medicinal qualities are old wives tales but one seemingly good use of Sage is as a sore throat gargle. Try 6 or 7 leaves of Sage in a cup of hot water and leave it to cool. Gargle Gargle ;)
